Description

We are looking for an Accountant to join our team located in downtown Calgary. This position requires an experienced accountant with a recognized accounting designation. Responsibilities will include both accounting and analytical functions including product costing, internal controls, reconciliations, variance investigations, budgeting, audits and management reporting.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:

· Management reporting and analysis

· Reviewing, revising and creating internal controls & policies

· Performing complex analysis and reconciliations

o Product costing

o Banking

o Intercompany & general ledger accounts

· Contributing to the annual budget cycle

· Variance analysis

· Lead role for audits – internal and external

· Supporting senior staff with special projects

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Accounting Designation

· 5+ years of progressive & relevant full cycle accounting experience

· Experience with SAP business system a strong asset

· Experience with complex reconciliations

· Budgeting and variance analysis

· Experience in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment

· Solid organizational and analytical abilities

· Proven competence in utilizing business tools at an advanced level:

o MS office suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook

· Highly organized with attention to detail

· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team

· Strong written and verbal communication skills
