Summary/General Description of Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of accounting activities related to payroll and the payment of invoices. Computes, classifies, and records transactions to the accounting system. Checks transaction to locate and resolve discrepancies.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
· Compiles various documents, verifies their accuracy, and processes payments in accordance with established procedures.
· Assembles documents for computer input, verifying accuracy of itemized charges, account numbers, and total costs.
· Selects correct accounts; verifies, and balances debit and credit entries.
· Performs arithmetic calculations
· Responds to inquiries, checks accounting transactions to locate and resolve discrepancies.
· Provides payable services to staff, projects, and individuals.
· Code payroll time sheets, input time sheets and print new ones.
· Operates computer for data entry, word processing and excel spreadsheets.
· Operates office equipment such as photocopier, fax machine, calculator and scanner.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements :
Mandatory:
· High school diploma or GED
· One year work experience
· Ability to perform rudimentary arithmetic calculations.
· Computer experience on spreadsheet software, preferably Microsoft Excel
· Ten-key by touch
· Valid State driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, with the ability to obtain an Oklahoma State driver’s license within 30 days of employment.
· Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary License and Security ID requirements.
Preferred:
· Two years experience accounting experience preferred.
· Two years college with courses in accounting, business, or equivalent experience.
· Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
