Description
The Pharmacy Services Accounting Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate billing of drug charges and auditing the preauthorization of drug process to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for drugs.
Qualifications
Required: Associate Degree in accounting, business or bookkeeping. 2 years previous experience as an accounting technician or bookkeeper in the pharmacy environment. Basic understanding of medication and pharmacy billing procedures, drug nomenclature. Working knowledge of medical billing including CPT, ICD9 codes, and medicare and other governmental regulations, and healthcare billing cycle processes as they relate to inpatient, ambulatory and retail pharmacy. Experience identifying performance barriers and developing key audit controls. Exceptional verbal and written communciation skills and the ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups including physicians, administrators, clinical personnel, and other internal and external customers. Proficiency at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment. Demonstrated intermediate level usage of MS Word, Excel, Visio and Power Point. Prefer: Bachelor’s degree business or finance. 4 years accounting technician experience.
Schedule and Salary Range
1.0 FTE, 8:00 – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday
