Description:
Position Summary: The Accounting Supervisor will supervise the general ledger accounting group. The position is responsible for general ledger transactions, financial review, sales, use and property tax reporting and fixed assets tracking and reporting.
Essential Functions:
1. Supervise and coordinate general accounting staff
2. Responsible for maintaining the general ledger as well as compiling the monthly financial statements.
3. Coordinate and review all journal entries, account reconciliations and transaction processes and reporting
4. Ability to adhere to business unit and corporate timelines and meet deadlines
5. Strong understanding of accounting concepts and GAAP
6. Review all sales, use and property tax for accurate reporting
7. Monitor and review monthly reporting of capital expenditures and the closing of capital projects
8. Assist with internal and external audits and in SOX compliance
9. Assist with year end data collection and analysis for tax package
10. Assist with special accounting projects and ad hoc report analysis
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree required with major in accounting or business
2. Four to seven years general accounting experience, including experience with sales and use tax and fixed assets
3. Two to five years supervisory experience
4. Keen analytical and financial ability, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize assignments, timelines and importance of tasks.
5. Experience in and thorough knowledge of software applications, databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with SAP a plus
