JOB TITLE

BASIC PURPOSE: Assists with the coordination of the accounting operations in the area de-centralized finance division – specifically, The Bourbon Orleans Hotel and the Dauphine Hotel. Will compile, review, reconcile, prepare and analyze entries to facilitate the accounting function. Will process the financial statements and other reports to ensure accurate, timely information for the two hotels.

ORGANIZATIONAL SCOPE: The position will be responsible for the Balance She: Accounting Manager-NOHC Area Office

REPORTS TO: Area Director of Finance

=================================================et Reconciliations, Daily Analysis of accounts, Month-end Closing, and Internal Controls, for the Bourbon Orleans and Dauphine Hotels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform cash and balance sheet reconciliations for the Bourbon and Dauphine hotels.

2. Does the month-end closing and subsequently prepares the financial statements for the Bourbon and Dauphine Hotels. Prepares journal entries, analyze accounts and posts into the general ledger.

3. Submits payroll for the Area division staff employees

4. May act as backup support to the finance staff at the hotels.

REPORTS TO: Area Director of Finance

5. Review and monitor internal control procedures in the hotel. Assist with performing self-audits on the various hotels.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist with the compilation and preparation of the financial statement, periodic forecasts and annual budget to provide support to ensure timely, accurate information.

2. Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

Education: A four year college degree (Accounting preferred) or equivalent education/experience.

Experience:

Experience required by position is from one to two full years of employment in related position with this company or other organization(s).

Skills and Abilities:

Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the finance and hospitality professions. This includes experiential knowledge required to analyze complex problems. Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities and/or information in a specialized field involving readily available data and indicating logical conclusions and recommendations. Ability to communicate and provide information and associated services to management, employees and guests.

No. of employees supervised:

No formal supervisory responsibility, but acts as a lead worker in providing advice, counsel, training and generally assists a supervisor.

Travel required: Minimal; training classes, task force, etc.

Hours Required: 45-50 hours over a 5 day period; Scheduled days and times may vary based on need.
