What are the job responsibilities? To lead the Accounting Policy and SOX initiatives for the Proprietary Client Finance group.

1. Monitors regulatory activity and reports summary of issues.

2. Researches and documents accounting policies.

3. Develops and documents procedures.

4. Coordinates project activities, monitors and reports status.

5. Develops and administrates training efforts within Proprietary Client Finance function (securities, derivatives and commercial mortgage portfolios responsibilities).

6. Manages inter-disciplinary projects.

7. Consults with portfolio management, investment legal/compliance, corporate tax, asset management and business units on accounting implications of new products.

8. Responsible for understanding and complying with firm policies and procedures while performing the role outlined above.

9. Coordination of management letter process for all audit engagements impacting the shareholders assets managed by Atlanta Fixed Income team.
Who is our ideal candidate? 1. CPA with Big 4 experience, minimum 10 years experience in financial reporting and accounting research (experienced manager level of Big 4 accounting firm or equivalent second tier firm).

2. Demonstrated experience with and understanding of US GAAP required; US Statutory required and IAS highly desired.

3. Strong research and writing skills.

4. Strong communication skills: verbally articulate, demonstrates negotiation and diplomacy skills.

5. High level of organizational and documentation skills.

6. Project and team management and coordination skills.

7. Broad working knowledge of fixed income investments required and working knowledge of the US life insurance industry highly desirable.

8. Solid management and people-development skills and experience.

9. Flexibility – both technically (accounting) & personally (willingness to help others)

10. Strong business acumen with International/cross-cultural experience.
