Description
Centocor Ortho Biotech Services (COBS), LLC, a member of Johnson & Johnson’s Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Clinical Science Liaison- Oncology/Nephrology to cover Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska & Kansas (Midwest Territory). This is a field-based position and candidate must live in region and have access to major metropolitan airport.

The Clinical Science Liaison (CSL) will provide scientific support to opinion leaders, community physicians, investigators and other healthcare providers related to the current and future Centocor Ortho Biotech Services (COBS) Medical Affairs. The Clinical Science Liaison functions as scientific expert on current and future Centocor Ortho Biotech Oncology and Nephrology products in areas of relevance to internal and external customers. Areas of expertise include clinical, scientific, and research. The CSL provides scientific support to Oncology and Nephrology opinion leaders and community physicians on clinical application of COBS existing and future products and responding to their unsolicited requests for scientific information via 1:1 or group discussions and presentations, including disease state concepts and complex medical issues.

The CSL collaborates with Medical Affairs and Clinical Research in support of Phase II to IV clinical trials, including site identification, assessment, education of investigators, conduct of recruitment events, and participation in investigator meetings. Also provides support to investigator’s requests for investigator-initiated studies according to company guidelines; Provides scientific support to business and Medical partners, including training, in house Medical Affairs, Research and Development, Marketing and Medical Information as appropriate; Provides feedback and intelligence on the clinical and market environment, promotional and clinical strategies, competition, and other developments relevant to COBS success.

The CSL represents and supports COBS at Oncology and Nephrology scientific meetings including congresses, symposia, advisory boards, and investigator meetings; Interpret and report findings with recommendations for action to relevant COBS personnel.

Qualifications
A minimum of a BA/BS in life science required; advanced degree at graduate level strongly preferred e.g., M.S., MSN, Ph.D., Pharm D., M.D. A minimum of 2 years post graduate experience is required, preferably in related areas (clinical practice, scientific liaison, medical communication, clinical research, academic position in health science research). Oncology and/or Nephrology experience is strongly preferred. In-depth scientific and therapeutic knowledge within the Oncology/Nephrology franchise including Centocor Ortho Biotech and competitive products as well as disease states within the areas of Oncology and Nephrology highly preferred. Applicant may be required to perform a significant number of scientific presentations. The ideal candidate must be able to present clinical data in an accurate and impactful way to a highly technical audience. Comfort with utilization of computer, company applications (working experiene with MS PowerPoint is required and experience with other MS Suite products is an asset.) and remote technology required. Fully understand and apply CSL SOP’s/guidelines and company HCC/Regulatory/Legal guidelines. Function with high integrity and is compliant with the Johnson & Johnson Credo values.

Travel requirement is 60- 70% (via driving and flying) in region including overnight travel. This is a field based position. A valid US driver license and clean driving record required as incumbent will receive a company vehicle. Qualified candidate must live within territory and in close proximity to an airport.
