Engineering Aide
The engineering aide is responsible for providing administrative and technical support to the engineering supervisor, engineers and designers. This position is responsible for but not limited to assisting with the Plant Data Management System (PDMS), providing Documentum training, writing EREQs, maintaining Inprocessed File Management (IPFM) and ProjectWise, and initiating drawing transmittals. This position interfaces with design and plant personnel to ensure the engineering deliverables meet the schedule and budget. These individuals will demonstrate proven communication, project management, problem solving and solid interpersonal skills to ensure designs are implemented cost effectively and the client and companies goals are met.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provides support to design personnel by entering data into PDMS and checking the drawings against this data.
· Assist engineers by writing EREQS to support the clients needs
· Provide assistance to engineers and designers by transmitting vendor and domestic drawings. Ensure all drawings are processed in a timely manner and in compliance with department policies and procedures.
· Assist design personnel by being the focal point for maintaining IPFM/ ProjectWise applications.
· Research files and audit projects as instructed by supervision
· Serves as a point of contact for issues relating to PDMS , Documentum, EREQs, IPFM/PW and the transmittal process.
· Interface with retrofit project managers and provide design a quarterly look ahead forecast for upcoming retrofit projects.
· Maintain a Project status spreadsheet and communicate statuses to Design Supervisor/Manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
* High School Diploma or equivalent required
* Associate degree and/or college certification is preferred
Experience
* Comfortable working in a team oriented environment
* Experience working multiple projects simultaneously
* Experience in maintaining databases
Knowledge
* Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
* AutoCad experience a plus
* Knowledge of designing/maintaining Access Databases
* In depth skills utilizing standard computer applications
Skills
* Effective written and oral communication skills
* Strong listening and interpersonal skills
* Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks without direct supervision
* Ability to work independently as well as under direct supervision or in a team environment
