Finance Manager & Controller-Jobs in Arkansas

Description

This role is responsible for the overall financial management and control for Shire’s operations located in Argentina. Whilst the role reports through Shire’s global finance organization, the day to day interaction and support provided to the local management teams is a key focus.

* Responsible for all aspects of financial management and control for Shire’s operations located in Argentina
* Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, including local taxation, social laws and SOX
* Provides strong financial support to the local management teams of HGT in support of overall business objectives, as a proactive business partner
* Assist LATAM Finance Director in the preparation of regional annual Budget and quarterly forecasts
* Assist LATAM Finance Director in key finance initiatives and projects in Latin America when needed

Responsibilities

* Manages all aspects of the accounting, ensuring all accounting processes are in compliance with local laws and group policies. This includes overseeing the services provided by other local advisors
* Ensures provision of timely and accurate financial information (monthly, quarterly, annual processes) to Group Finance in accordance with Shire GAAP and coordinates timely responses to queries
* Manages all aspects of internal and external financial and operational audits, including overseeing the preparation and filing of the annual statutory accounts in accordance with local regulations
* Maintains and develops effective systems of internal accounting controls including the documentation of those controls, to ensure that: all financial information is accurate and adequately supported; processes are compliant with the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley
* Acts as a proactive business partner in supporting the HGT commercial team
* Ensures provision of timely and accurate management information and investigates / communicates key variances to agreed revenue / expense targets
* Leads the development of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts and long range strategic planning. In all cases, ensuring appropriate follow up / resolution of queries following management reviews
* Responsible for ensuring contractual obligations within current commercial contracts are met and providing financial sign-off to any new contracts negotiated
* Participates in special projects as required, either in support of local business initiatives or as lead representative for in global finance / systems projects

Requirements

Education & Experience Requirements

Required:

* Degree in Accounting or Finance
* At least 7 years of experience in multinational company or public accounting
* The candidate must be fluent in English and Spanish

Desirable:

* Experience in Public Accounting in a “big four” is a big plus
* Multi-national pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience is also a big plus

* Excellent communication skills, hands-on orientation and acquaintance with international multicultural environments

* Ability to solve problems and think creatively – capacity to provide pragmatic solutions and have the drive and leadership to implement ideas through to successful conclusion
