Job Description

BASIC PURPOSE:

The Analyst lll will be responsible for providing high-level analysis and supplemental data to support the decision-making process, proactively support Accounting and Controlling function and prepare key management reports for internal U.S. Management and to parent company in Ingelheim, Germany.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work cooperatively in a team of Analysts responsible for the centralized accounting support for five legal entities, providing proactive financial and business support to various Controlling personnel and/or business units.

Perform various monthly activities which include active analysis and issue resolution of various balance sheet accounts, supporting the monthly and annual financial reporting requirements in EC CS and BI Prisma, and providing analyses and supporting documentation for the interim and year-end external audits.

Assume the role as key liaison and prime contact for financial processes which may include payroll, Order to cash and/or Purchase to pay. Within this role, ensure that business financial processes are accurately captured and reported in the financial statements, ensure internal controls are in place, work with business partners to resolve issues and develop solutions.

Assume responsibility for high-level analysis and reconciliation of various Income Statement and balance sheet accounts across companies as assigned.

Maintain financial and controlling Master Data in SAP to ensure financial systems meet the needs of our users and our financial reporting requirements.

Prepare annual federal and state tax packages.

Assist in other projects and initiatives as they arise or as time allows

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS/BA degree with major in Accounting (or equivalent) or higher, with 7 + years of progressive experience in public or management accounting (or finance). MBA, CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and a thorough understanding of financial reports including an income Statement and a Balance Sheet, Cashflow and Statement of Equity.
• Strong Analytical & SAP FI/CO skills.
• Experience and knowledge of financial processes, with the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must be proactive and effectively interface with individuals of all levels and backgrounds.
