Description GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
(Brief description, level and purpose of the position)

Senior field manager responsible for all aspects of running a profitable store location. Responsible for setting the tone and leading the store’s culture/environment to ensure success in all aspects of customer service, profitability, operations, talent acquisition, people development, merchandise presentation and merchandise assortment.

GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS
(Duties that comprise more than 5% of time, responsibilities critical to the successful performance of the position)

Sale and Profitability
· Attain sales and profitability goals for store through use of short and long-range planning, expense management and inventory shortage control.

· Develops and leads shortage strategy by identifying, monitoring and establishing a high level of loss prevention awareness and training.

· Oversee and ensure accountability of all bebe policies and operations, including transfers, shipping, scheduling, expenses, maintenance and inventory results.

· Evaluates all expenses in relations to store P & L plan. Responsible for delivering profit plan through payroll/non-payroll management.

· Ensures best floor coverage to achieve service plans through evaluation of staffing schedules.

· Monitor and ensure high quality customer service and satisfaction through enforcement of the ”Clientele Development Program” and “Explosive, State-of-the-Art Customer Service”;

· Monitor all controllable experiences that appear on the profit and loss statement.

People Development and Leadership
· Recruit and select a team of qualified selling managers.

· Directs the recruiting efforts of the store to ensure the staffing is up to plan. Improves retention by emphasizing awareness of people development and career development.

· Assumes leadership and development role through effective total store communication, awareness of morale, staff development and implementation of selling priorities.

· Actively coach and counsel selling managers to reach their fullest potential, maximize business opportunities and promote them to the next level.

· Create a positive work environment that results in retention and turnover reduction.

· Ability to perform all training and orientations at store location.

· Utilize company training tools to continually plan, monitor and execute the training and development of all employees;

· Encourage team building while developing store managers to be independent and confident;

· Use Development Agendas and Annual Performance Reviews to provide feedback on store managers job performance;

· Develop a succession plan quarterly to review with RD. Anticipate and forecast for turnover and establish bench candidates as back up managers.

Merchant Mentality/Visual Presentation
· Communicate weekly market information to the Regional Director and corporate partners regarding merchandise mix (i.e., recommended markdowns, consolidations, product flow and Vision implementation);

· Gather information that reflects current merchandising trends in specific market and educate store personnel on terminology and trends;

· Balance store inventory levels according to specific needs;

· Works with planning organization to minimize

· Monitor and ensure follow-through of current visual presentation standards and Corporate Merchandise Vision Directives;

· Monitor and follow up on store maintenance, cleanliness and store repairs.

Support for the Company
· Support and represent the bebe Value System;

· Demonstrate professionalism, leadership and self-confidence;

· Remain flexible and responsive while demonstrating an “ownership” mentality. Exhibit a sense of urgency when reacting to store issues;

· Inspire others to achieve their personal best;

· Provide district management with accurate, timely, well-thought out paperwork, projects, assignments and new ideas;

Understand, enforce and support all bebe policies, procedures and directives ensuring district compliance;

· Additional responsibilities, duties, and projects as assigned.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
(Skills, education, and abilities required to performing the essential functions of the job)

· Bachelor’s degree;

· 5-7 years of experience in the field or related area.

· Strong leadership profile.

· Highly organized and able to adapt quickly to changing prioities.

· Ability to develop, plan and execute strategies.

· Ability to work well with all levels of management, build partnerships and direct teams.

· Established history of implementing company-wide training programs in a proactive and business-minded manner;

· Proven track record developing store managers to perform additional responsibilities and assume promotional responsibilities;

· Maintains and encourages honest, open communication with all levels of management;

· Effectively communicates within district, with subordinates, peers, supervisor and corporate partners;

· Excellent written and oral communication skills and must exhibit strong listening skills;

· Requires sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time, i.e. regularly working more than 40 hours per week;

· Able to freely move about in a store/mall for a minimum of 8 hours a day;

· Capacity to lift or move up to 35 pounds at a time;

· Ability to plan, organize and effectively train store managers in a timely manner;

· Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously;

· Ability to cope with pressure, multiple deadlines, and working under pressure;

· Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with fellow co-workers;

· Ability to use cash register and a computer;

· Ability to travel to via car, airplane, train or public transportation as needed.
