Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for adding value by managing human resources functions providing broad spectrum HR knowledge, high level expertise and consulting services to management and employees, and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance is maintained and company policies are applied. Supports HR’s initiative in providing timely customer service to all client groups.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops plans to minimize legal exposure and maximize performance by anticipating problems and suggesting/advising management of risks associated with current business practices and recommends improvements by providing expertise to management in local, state and federal employment laws implementing solutions where appropriate.
Provides coaching, training and counseling pertaining to various aspects of human resources (e.g., performance improvement, sexual harassment, discrimination, diversity, legal/employment issues) to ensure complete understanding of potential benefits/issues and appropriate actions are taken.
Educates managers and employees regarding disciplinary actions, moves and terminations to ensure complete documentation and compliance with company guidelines.
Promptly reports any compliance related concerns to Senior HR Management team and works through appropriate resolution.
Determines training needs of managers and employees and seeks out appropriate courses to meet the needs. Conducts training of Human Resources objectives to management including regulatory compliance training, policy and procedures training, and corporate initiatives.
Responds to human resources related questions and issues from managers and employees (e.g., performance, discipline, termination, etc.) to ensure accurate and consistent interpretation and application of policies and procedures and to maintain compliance with employment law and regulations.
Analyzes data, identifies trends and recommends solutions to improve employee satisfaction, performance, and retention.
Investigates complaints and employee relation issues. Documents findings and recommends remedial actions to management.
Works with relevant parties, including Legal and Senior HR Management, to gather data/information relevant to employment and discrimination claims, charges, or cases to facilitate prompt resolution.
Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
Works with HR administration team to respond to unemployment claims, ensuring documentation/response is correct, complete and timely to protect company’s interests.
Coordinates performance review process with managers and reviews and provides feedback to managers on performance reviews.
Timely reviews and approves, for accuracy and compliance with company guidelines, the appropriate form on all employee changes, including terminations, pay rate changes, promotions, location change, job change, supervisor changes, transfers, reclassifications, leaves of absence, etc.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in/leads special human resources projects and initiatives (e.g., improving communication, training, etc.) to ensure successful and timely implementation.
Assists other team members in supporting, organizing and executing HR departmental projects related to the efficient and compliant operation of the HR Department.
Provides backup to other team members as necessary.
Supports the company safety initiatives and brings to the attention of management any safety concerns.
Performs general clerical work such as filing, copying, mailing, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Solid knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and email software (preferably Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Solid ability to exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Basic knowledge of operations management
Basic knowledge of human resource database software (preferably ADP)
EDUCATION:
Preferred Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university in human resources or management or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum five (5) years ongoing human resources experience required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in normal office environment. Required to travel by car and/or commercial airlines between 25 to 50 percent of the time.
