Job Description Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives:
Lead and direct the Molecular Sales team for the Abbott Molecular products to exceed and achieve annual sales goals through motivation, coaching, skill development, product knowledge, industry knowledge, competitive knowledge, and company knowledge to achieve.

Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Execute district, regional and national sales plans/strategies to exceed sales goals. Establishes goals and metrics for team, monitors progress and contigency plans to assure sales goal achievement. Creates, implements and communicates plans and vision.

Execute new product launches, drive sales performance through targeted sales programs.

Manage Field Technical Resource involved in training, servicing and troubleshooting the Alliance products.

Hire, coach, train, and develop all personnel. Maintain a diverse and motivated sales team.
Conduct routine interviewing to identify prospective candidates.

Recognize performance excellence, conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback on performance gaps, provide coaching to minimize gaps and prepare the employee to meet personal and company goals.

Prepare business plans, forecast, and market share analysis to upper management.

Maintain fiscal responsibility and complete each year under expense plan with a primary goal of exceeding each years sales plan.
Skills/Experience Requirements Basic Qualifications:

Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.
Sales Management Experience (2-4 years), managing a diverse staff of experienced sales reps.
Sales experience (5+ years) dealing with high dollar/volume highly complex products and sales strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strategy, planning and execution skills.
Good coaching and personnel development skills.
Strong interviewing and selection skills.
Demonstrated motivational and leadership skills.
Understanding of molecular customers, products they use and general understanding of nucleic acid chemistry.
Financial analysis skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education Requirements Bachelors degree. Our customer base is made up of people with a minimum of a four year degree and most have advanced degrees such as M.D.,PH.D., Masters, MTASCP, Etc.. These customers do expect a certain level of competency from their business partners.
