AHAINA Student Programs is an acronym for African American, Hispanic, Asia, International, and Native American. AHAINA’s objective is to create responsive and efficient student support systems which recruits, sustains, counsels, documents and also integrates students in the university community. AHAINA programs assist in the increased retention and graduation rate of students of color by providing them with a amiable and stimulating social and intellectual environment.This position also provides budget management for the Upward Bound grant.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position. Office Management skills, secretarial skills, communication, delegation, leadership and supervision skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Publisher. Basic accounting skills. Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Typical education or training required for this position (including licenses). Associate of Arts degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Length of time and type of experience required for this position. Substantial experience in an administrative support position.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities for this position. Knowledge of Banner Finance, Excel, Word, Student, Blackboard, Accounting & UAA Budget Policies. Knowledge of UAA Payroll Policies and HR forms, Knowledge of multicultural & diversity issues.
