Liberty Mutual is seeking a full-time temporary Payroll Accountant to support payroll functions and transactions by utlizing sound judgement and problem solving skills. This position provides an opportunity to take full responsibility for decisions, tasks, and actions that make a significant impact on employee payroll and may offer an opportunity to supervise staff.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision maintains general ledger accounts, journal entries and multiple account reconciliations. Ensures payroll deductions are calculated, remitted and validated according to specified schedule. Responsible for timely resolution of out of cycle transactions, ensuring appropriate accounting practices are followed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensures payroll tax deductions are calculated, remitted and validated according to specified schedule.
· Responsible for timely payments of payroll tax according to agency regulations
· Ensures payroll garnishment deductions are calculated, remitted and validated according to specified schedule.
· Ensures payroll deductions are calculated, remitted and validated according to specified schedule.
· In depth knowledge of accounting practices and principles
· Understanding of 401k and 409A plans and withholdings
· Strong financial analysis, ability to identify and resolve issues and present in a clear manner.
· Proficiency in spreadsheets and accounting applications
