Specific Job Description Procure products and services as assigned to support program and facility requirements. Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Prepare and issue RFI and RFQ packages to vendors to obtain competitive quotes. Develop and maintain price analysis. Follow and maintain procurement packages through closeout cycle. Utilize all LMSSC procurement tools to support procurement activities. Manage issues and status requestors. Take problem resolution to completion. Will assist junior-level buyers with guidance and review. May require travel.
Standard Job Description Sources and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization. Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records. May prepare bid packages.
Security Clearance Secret
Typical Minimums Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
