Job Description
The selected candidate will prepare biological samples using a variety of extraction methods, analyze the samples using mass spectrometers and process/organize the results. He/she will also be responsible for the general upkeep of laboratory equipment and ordering of supplies for the metabolomics core center. The selected candidate will work under close supervision, and receive specific and detailed instruction.
Required Skills
Analytical mindset and demonstrated ability to prepare samples with careful attention to precision and accuracy. Keen interest in learning and performing analytical technologies such as mass spectrometry that use highly sophisticated instrumentation. Ability to cooordinate multiple tasks, analyze complex data sets and complete assignments in a timely manner.
Required Experience
B.S. degree in chemistry, analytical biochemistry or a related discipline. Prior experience with mass spectrometry preferred but not required.
