We currently have an opportunity available as Senior Accounting Specialist at our brand new Holiday Inn Las Vegas property, scheduled to open September 2009. This challenging position has overall responsibility for a variety of general accounting duties or specialized accounting functions such as accounts payable or accounts receivable for the hotel. We are looking for a team leader with strong payroll, accounts payable and receivable skills. We need someone with a positive attitude and willingness to help in other areas of the hotel. Most of the billing and paying of bills will be done from a central office.
Key responsibilities of the role include:

Summarize and post data to journals, ledgers and other accounting records. Provide daily audit control over the revenue, accounts receivable, food and beverage accounting and/or general accounting functions of the hotel to ensure accuracy and adherence to all policies and regulations.

Perform a variety of accounts receivable duties to ensure appropriate reporting of revenues and costs. You will prepare or assist in the preparation of daily bank deposits.

Prepare monthly occupancy and sales tax reconciliation’s. Assist with daily tip application as requested. Verify that room and tax have been run on all occupied rooms; investigate and discrepancies. Complete food and beverage sales test as required. Audit food and beverage menu pricing as needed or requested.

You may complete daily revenue balancing and audit of hotel revenue. Balance credit card transmissions, note and correct discrepancies. Prepare audit-related reports or documentation. You may assist with other duties as needed or requested.

Qualifications
We require a High School diploma or equivalent and 2-3 years experience in an accounting clerical, front office, or reservations position; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Strong computer skills and experience with various programs are required. You may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
