About the Position
The incumbent serves at the Area manager with responsibility for all
phases (i.e., scientific, administrative, representational and
managerial) of Federal and cooperative Veterinary Services (VS)
animal health and disease programs and activities for the Area,
and is located in Montgomery, Alabama. In this capacity, the
incumbent directs the activities of approximately nineteen
scientific, professional, administrative and technical personnel
located in the immediate office and at remote field locations.
APHIS is an emergency response agency. This means that all
Agency employees may be asked or assigned to participate in rotating
temporary duty assignments to support emergency programs at some
