Vice President, Strategy & Business Development-Jobs in New York

Job Description:
Vice President will provide support to the SVP of the department in both areas of Strategy and Business Development and management of projects that the department will be involved in, working with senior management across MTVN.
The Vice President will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Comedy Central, Spike TV, and TV Land Strategy and Business Development.
The internal contacts this position interacts with include but are not limited to: Channel GM”s, SVP”s and above to support management, conductng financial and strategic analysis on key issues.
The department is responsible for:
- Strategy: Developing overall strategy for Comedy Central, Spike TV and TV Land!; Assisting channels on specific initiatives and projects relating to Ad Sales, Programming, Process and Organizational Structure & Costs; Transfer of best practices
- Budgets and Long Range Plans: Working with individual channels the group is responsible for developing budgets and long range plans for each of the channels. The process also involves preparation of presentations for senior management at both MTV Networks and Viacom.
- Business Development: Identifying and recommending appropriate action for Comedy Central, Spike TV and TV Land s potential entrance into new markets, strategic partnerships and business opportunities. Tasks include: discounted cash flow and equity method valuations, preparing presentations to obtain senior management approval at MTVN and Viacom, managing outside advisors.
Required Qualification/Skills:
7+ years work experience in a strategy/biz dev group; 3 years in a top tier management consulting firm or investment bank including prior experience in M&A or business development
Strong experience in excel, powerpoint, accounting, financial modeling and valuation
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrated strong project management and proven leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to generate strategic insights
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills and diplomatic skills
Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and resourceful, with a strong desire to learn
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build consensus and work in a team
Bachelor s degree required.
Strong business ethics.
Desired Qualification/Skills:
A combination of experience in entertainment, investment banking/M&A, and new media preferred
MBA strongly preferred
Previous TV experience strongly preferred
