Position Description
Defines, designs, and implements network communications and solutions. Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the UNIX system. Manages load configuration of central data communication processor and makes recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinates terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, installing, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requirement. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers. Trains employees on system procedures and proper utilization.
Minimum Requirements
6+ years experience in UNIX systems administration
Additional Knowledge & Skills
* Minimum of 2 years experience in the use of HP/Opsware Orchestration
* Minimum of 4 year of System Administration or Systems Architecture experience in support of distributed large-scale UNIX (primarily SUN Solaris and Red Hat Linux) and Microsoft Windows systems environments. (Linux experience preferred)
* Familiarity with newScale a plus.
* Strong written and verbal skills.
* Experience working with SAN technologies
* Ability to work effectively across teams and disciplines within the organization.
* Exceptional conceptual and analytical problem solving abilities.
* Exceptional consulting and customer service skills.
* Self-motivated and able to define, plan and implement long-term tasks and goals
* Self-starter who takes initiative and works well in a team environment

Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
