General Motors is looking for an energetic senior process accounting analyst to join its team.
The process Accounting Senior Analyst will be responsible for:

· Providing accounting support and guidance to the organization
· Acting as a liaison to business units throughout General Motors on process issues related to accounting
· Identifying, interpreting, and analyzing potential accounting risks and issues
· Performing qualitative analyses of balance sheets, income statements, account reconciliations, accounting processes and monthly general ledger activity
· Ensuring compliance with accounting/internal control policies and procedures
· Assisting with special accounting projects and global initiatives
· Benchmarking and processing redesign in order to develop common, standardized and streamlined accounting processes throughout the organization
· Providing internal and/or external financial analysis, consultation and decision support
· Assisting with internal and external audits as required

Qualifications

Basic Required:

· Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance (Masters preferred)
· CPA or equivalent professional designation (must be active license holder)
· Solid experience with US GAAP and International Accounting Standards
· 3 years of relevant accounting experience (Public accounting experience is a plus)
· Working experience with accounting research, interpreting and implementing Accounting Standards
· Familiarity with technical accounting
· Prior experience with internal audit or internal controls and previous big 4 experience is a strong plus
· Demonstrated problem solving and analytical abilities where problems are complex
· Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Highly proficient Personal Computer skills and technology driven (Excel and Access)
· Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multitask within restricted time constraints
· Ability to network and collaborate cross-functionally
