JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent will serve as Executive Assistant to the Associate Director for Operations by providing assistance and technical support on administrative matters affecting patient care, education, research, and organizational policy and controlled substance loss and security. This includes serving as staff member directly supporting the top management team responsible for planning, organizational development, direction, and evaluation of medical center operations. Drafts/administers Associate Director for Operations’ budget and provides expert administrative recommendations. Will comply with all directives and special requirements and independently preparing annual and cyclic budget documents, consolidating submissions received from subordinate units. Monitors execution and recommends necessary adjustments as required. The incumbent performs staff support work independently in short and long-range planning efforts. Assess priorities to best meet veterans’ health care delivery needs.

The incumbent will serve as Executive Assistant to the Associate Director for Operations by providing assistance and technical support on administrative matters affecting patient care, education, research, and organizational policy and controlled substance loss and security. This includes serving as staff member directly supporting the top management team responsible for planning, organizational development, direction, and evaluation of medical center operations. Drafts/administers Associate Director for Operations’ budget and provides expert administrative recommendations. Will comply with all directives and special requirements and independently preparing annual and cyclic budget documents, consolidating submissions received from subordinate units. Monitors execution and recommends necessary adjustments as required. The incumbent performs staff support work independently in short and long-range planning efforts. Assess priorities to best meet veterans’ health care delivery needs. Examines programs and recommends expanding, contracting, combining, separating or realigning them to best meet patient health care needs most economically. Maintains a completed source of comprehensive manpower, space and equipment data to support efforts to establish, review or modify resource requirements. Maintains accurate utilization and cost information and provides an analysis of the affect of resources on the overall productivity of the various organizations. Other duties include but are not limited to developing and maintaining workload/resource monitors that detect appropriate and inappropriate utilization of scarce resources. The incumbent analyzes the necessary human resources, equipment and space to effectively support the mission of individual organizations. Maintains program requirements/validation criteria for assigned organizations. Participation for the Associate Director for Operations in multiple committees and task factors.

Qualifications and Evaluations
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this job that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically we would find this experience in work within this field or a field that is closely related.
