Function: This role will require an individual who is highly versatile in their ability to build relationships with small business owners, as well as leaders within the community. They must be able to conduct presentations in multiple formats, including large group, small group, panel discussions, one on one engagement, and other ways of connecting with small business. Individuals must be self-motivated and passionate about engaging with small business entrepreneurs in the community as they educate on technology. They will be responsible for maintaining long term relationships with business owners and be a liaison to Qwest to help them solve technology problems – whether with current service or future needs. They should already be active and involved in their community and have true knowledge and empathy for the challenges that face small business owners.

Classification: Regular Full-Time employees are scheduled to work at least forty (40) hours per calendar week for an indefinite period of time.

Location: Omaha, NE

Job Description:

· Be accountable for educating, building relationships and earning leadership and trust as a small business resource in the community.

· Maintain responsibilities for a defined market area; which could require regular travel to neighboring communities

· Build relationships with local business leaders and community groups to understand where Qwest’s program can be the most targeted and helpful to small business.

· Participate in and lead local events that support small businesses, including those which support community development at times.

· Engage with broad and narrow industry groups that support small businesses.

· Drive brand awareness of Qwest as a community member and partner in targeted areas.

· Deliver the Qwest small business messages in a variety of formats; including, presentations and one-on-one conversations.

· Maintain community webpage, including blog, community links and events calendar

· Adhere to the Qwest standards of professional engagement at all times, working within Qwest processes to best support small business owners locally.

· Collect customer and competitive insights and deliver to larger Small Business marketing team on a regular basis, by vertical market, area, or more generally.

· Track funnel of relationships and other metrics for program, providing feedback on progress to inform the overall program as requested.

Basic Qualification/Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

· 5-8 years experience in telecom/technology/IT services, ideally marketing or strategy

· Proven presentation skills for varied levels of depth in technology.

· Strong interpersonal skills at all levels of engagement.

· Proven ability to work independently.

· Understanding of relationship selling techniques and approaches

· Active in their local community

· Grasp of technology and how it can benefit small businesses

· Strong listening skills

· Ability to solve problems within a large corporation proactively and tenaciously on behalf of small business clients.

· Time management skills

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

· Graduate degree in marketing, business strategy, psychology or related field

· Holds leadership positions in the community Existing relationships with small businesses in targeted communities

· Experience working with small business owners and/or decision makers

· Experience in helping small businesses grow

· Experience with complex telecom services and managed services

· Experience running a small business

· Experience within large corporation processes and structures.

· Writing skills for various types of formal/informal communication.
