The Software Quality Engineer (SQE) applies a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the construction, analysis, and management of Software (S/W) and Systems Engineering Processes and Procedures.
The SQE provides quality oversight to Software development activities. The SQE analyzes customer and derived requirements, ensures stakeholder involvement, interfaces directly with the customer / end-user, and creates and implements a S/W Quality Program Plan (SQPP) for projects.
The SQE will audit to ensure compliance with requirements and to gauge project health. The SQE will write Corrective Actions to address non-compliance, perform causal analysis, and make recommendations for process improvements to reduce project risk. He / She will also mentor Engineering in the effective and efficient application of the Rockwell Collins-Technical Consistent Process (RC-TCP).
The SQE Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and organizational skills. The Applicant must be highly-motivated and self-directed. The SQE must possess the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. The Applicant must have a Computer Science or Computer Engineering Degree or equivalent, and experience in High-Order Language (HOL) embedded development or SQE support of same. Familiarity with SEI CMMI, ISO-9001/AS-9100, Statistical Process Control (SPC), requirements analysis, model-based development, code analysis, peer review methodology, and requirements-based verification is required.
The SQE is responsible for providing quality oversight of Engineering Teams’ S/W activities across the entire product development life-cycle: bid and proposal preparation and review, project planning, requirements engineering, S/W architecture and detailed design, test planning, coding, white-box and black-box testing, S/W documentation, and release and support.

U.S. Citizenship is required
Ability to obtain active Department of Defense security clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in applicable engineering or science field, or, in the absence of an bachelor’s degree, six years of related engineering experience.
