Job Description
Our team goal is to ensure that the end to end information flow into the corporate reporting processes and applications meets the reporting requirements and is of good quality. To accomplish our goal:

* We ensure that upstream changes do not negatively impact reporting and work with our business partners to address current issues.
* We look to lessen reporting pain points by influencing/managing change in our financial architecture.
* We assess and monitor the control environment for Corporate Reporting both in regards to information supplied to us by our business partners and execution of our reporting and accounting functions.

We support SEC, Regulatory and Tax reporting on these efforts.

Overall Functions:

* The Analyst will assist Corporate Reporting Project Managers with business analysis support and testing for select projects. (S)he will also support issue resolution, data analysis and investigation, as required. The ultimate goal is to take ownership of some low to medium complexity projects from Initiation to Implementation. The tasks below are a compilation of all the types of tasks a senior analyst may do over the course of a project.
* Examples of projects include:
o Product system migrations/enhancements; e.g. IB strategic centralization efforts, etc.
o Legal Entity Events; e.g. mergers between JPMC entities and acquisitions like RBS Sempra, BSC, WAMU, etc,
o General Ledger Migrations; e.g. International migrations to SAP
o Infrastructure Efforts; e.g. Daily Consolidated GL (CDGL), SDM, etc.
o FASB implementations/disclosure changes that require system changes; e.g. EPS
* While over time, the analyst should expect to work on any of the above types of projects, the primary focus of this role will be the support of the Earnings Per Share/Employee Stock Compensation program and International migrations to SAP/improvements to the international month-end submission process.
* There is also a BAU component of the role to support the month-end close for the Employee Stock Database (ESD+) and to ensure reconciliation between HR Mellon award data and ESD+.

Business Analyst support:

* Work with stakeholder teams to determine/document requirements for functional enhancements and operating model changes.
* Develop project plan for smaller projects to deliver against requirements.
* Document and track meeting minutes and action items.
* Aide in the continuous improvement of internal documents and processes
* Review relevant project documentation, including Chart of Account (COA) analysis to fully understand each projects’ desired results, in relation to Corporate Policies for Legal Entity, Account, Trading Partner/Client

Testing/Conversion Support:

* For projects that are driven by the business or Finance Platform, assess individual project’s testing needs (i.e. Test Approach / Strategy) with CR PM and other stakeholders, which include: SEC Reporting, Legal Consolidation, Regulatory Reporting and Tax. Holds active discussions. Reviews project material. Reviews of information flows and other relevant information.
* For the EPS/Employee Stock Compensation program, assist in developing the test strategy working with HR Accounting, HR CFO, Corporate Reporting – SEC team and Global Finance Technology.
* Develop and review test cases & scripts, ensuring all minimum CR requirements are met
* Coordinate to ensure CR Systems’ test environments (ICE, Hyperion, ESD) are obtained/prepared for each testing event & cycle, proactively monitoring and communicating file receipt/processing success or failure
* Execute CR testing, review results, present and review with SME’s and follow-up on any identified defects and issues.

Qualifications

* Knowledge/background in Accounting or financial reporting as the business requirements and results that are being analyzed are predominantly financial statement/reporting or accounting oriented.
* Strong communication skills – written and oral.
* Analytical skills – ability to understand data/information and ascertain trends/issues from it.
* Flexibility to adjust to an ever changing set of demands depending on what projects/issues arise.
* Project skillset – ability to develop a small project plan and ensure delivery/progress on plan. Ability to understand and document user requirements and test scripts/results. These skills will be developed on the job, but some experience is desired.
* Strong PC skills – Excel, Access, Word, Visio, Project. Excel is a critical requirement and basic access skills are desired. Other software can be learned on the job.
* Ability to multi-task and work with multiple managers depending on effort.
* Strong team work skills.
