NonProfit Volunteer Coordinator

New opportunity with a nonprofit Christian based organization. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all volunteer activities in six functional areas of the organization.

These specific responsibilities include:

*Working in a team environment to identify volunteer positions, skills required and scheduling requirements.

*Recruit volunteers to fill positions, and to provide volunteer candidates to meet labor and scheduling requirements of task supervisors, typically other full-time staff members.

*Develop and implement volunteer recruitment, orientation and development programs.

*Schedule volunteers and coordinate the logistics for volunteers with fieldwork assignments.

*Maintain volunteer database and track volunteer statistical information and other volunteer program records.

*Develop and implement volunteer recognition and appreciation activities, including work progression systems to develop high impact volunteers capable of assisting in volunteer coordination and task supervision activities.

This position requires:

- Bachelor’s Degree

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Excellent analytical and organizational skills

- Excellent project management and labor scheduling skills

- Excellent relationship and mentoring skills

- Proven ability to work effectively with a wide range of volunteers from youth to retirees

This person will need the ability to delegate, yet realize that working with volunteers this position is ultimately responsible for all outcomes. Great personal and people skills with a compassion towards others – yet still able to get the job done!! This job requires being able to wear many hats!!

Advanced MS WORD and EXCEL skills and familiarity with database management.

Required Qualifications:

- Ability to command respect and project confidence.

- Ability to work with team toward common goals, and overcome diverse obstacles.

- Ability to organize personal workload and maintain a well functioning office.

- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends when necessary.

- Ability to thrive in a highly fluid environment that can be very unstructured in times of emergency.
