Senior Consultant – Monitoring and Management
As a part of the CDW Microsoft team, you are in the middle of the action creating technical solutions, impacting CDW’s business growth, and supporting our sales team. If you are interested in having a significant impact on the Microsoft business at CDW and enabling our clients to achieve their business goals, then CDW has an exciting opportunity for you. The incumbent of this position will:
* Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of large-scale enterprise management and/or monitoring implementations as well as complex system deployments and migration planning projects using System Center Products with a strong emphasis on System Center Configuration Manger and System Center Operations Manager implementations.
* Follow life-cycle oriented processes and procedures.
* Implement test plans, migration plans, and delivery plans.
* Network and application troubleshooting
* Prepare design documents and presentations. Clearly describe the design, including rationale for decisions and implications
of decisions.
* Deliver high-quality solutions to our customers to ensure their investment in technology is consistent with their business
objectives.
* Provide in-depth technical expertise on large-scale infrastructure projects for enterprise-class clients.
* Assess and recommend architectural designs/changes to customer systems in response to business or technical drivers
* Deliver project responsibilities inline with project plan
* Contribute to product development and written proposals
* Build relationships with customers to determine business requirements that will drive web site planning
* Work in a team environment.
Qualifications
* Experience delivering complex technical solutions including planning, development, implementation and support experience
* Consulting experience preferred
* MCITP: Enterprise Administrator certification preferred
* Four-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent experience
* Technical Proficiency in System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM) with experience in managing large environments
* Broad understanding of an array of technologies and their use, such as: Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, SCCM, SQL Server, SharePoint, Exchange Hosted Services, SCOM, ISA, and WSUS.
* Recent experience/knowledge of the Business Desktop Deployment Solution Accelerator and enterprise desktop deployment strategies.
* Application packaging experience with recent knowledge of WISE Package Studio and Flexera Admin Studio.
* Experience with Novell, Atiris, Landesk, and/or WinInstall to SMS/SCCM Migrations
* Current and pending Microsoft Windows operating systems and other operating system knowledge
* Experience owning some significant aspect of the product/application design and implementation
* A professional, business-focused attitude and courteous manner towards clients, partners and peers
* Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills including demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective
* Ability to travel average of 75%
