Business Data Analyst
Description
The PB / PWM Client Data Quality team is responsible for the analysis, design, and implementation of client and account data initiatives across the Private Bank and Private Wealth Management businesses. In addition, the team also plays a support role in initiatives related to the client data model for the Bear PCS business as well.
The business analysts support these key initiatives by performing the following functions either independently or as part of a larger project team:
- Project planning and management including project plans, researching current state, documenting scope and business requirements for future state, detailing issues & problems; collecting examples; drafting business and technical work / data flows.
- Assisting in the design and implementation of solutions including enhancements to existing processes and/or business applications; introduction of new processes or toolsets; re-engineering of existing processes / toolsets; introduction of reports and other data quality tools to identify and resolve issues.
- Providing implementation support including testing of new tools and processes to ensure they meet the requirements of PB, PWM, and Bear PCS businesses as necessary.
- Facilitate communication of new functionality through training sessions, demos, and the development of appropriate documentation, training materials, and communication materials.
- Develop and define business requirements by working with business partners and clients
- Partner with technology teams to execute project plan and manage to target timelines and budget.
- Present findings and recommendations in a business-friendly way that identifies issues, explains causes, details business and client impact, and build a business case and consensus for change.
- Data analysis including the collection of data from various sources, synthesizing the information, performing analysis, interpreting results and making recommendations.
- Fulfill ad hoc data requests related to projects supported and business as usual support.
Qualifications
· Experience with PB, PWM, or Bear PCS businesses, processes and systems is strongly preferred
· Experience/understanding of project lifecycle
· Proven ability as a self-starter, detail-oriented, well organized, strong decision-making skills and able to multi-task effectively
· Strong analytical/writing skills able to support a range of needs from current state investigation to future state recommendations
· Team-oriented and able to interact effectively with various functions including technology, project management, bankers, client service, and operations
· Ability to quickly analyze information and creatively reach solutions and execute their implementation
· Solid analytical abilities including data analysis
· Project management disciplines and experience
· Solid understanding of systems; technology acumen
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to take the lead in unstructured situations
· Solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint. Microsoft Access is preferred.
· Knowledge of ECD and Wealth Management systems supporting deposit products (CA, TECS, Stream, Workstation), Omni, the Operational Data Store (ODS), and Mercury Quality Center helpful
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
