Gift Shop Retail Assoc

The position is at the Banner Baywood Medical Center located in East Mesa on Power Rd & Broadway.

The Retail Associate will be working in the Gift shop for both the Medical Center and the Heart Hospital responsible for assisting with all aspects of retail operations. Additional responsibility includes coordination of day to day operations in order to assist in the achievement of a profitable program. This position is also responsible for the processing of merchandise, such as ordering, data entry, unpacking, pricing, and displaying.

This is a full time position, 32 hours, typically M-F 830am-330pm. May include some weekends and holidays based on staffing needs.

Responsibilities:

Monitors sales records and researches pricing policies to ensure the retail stores remain competitive. Provides customer service through the operation of a point of sale register system, taking phone orders and conducting sales within a retail setting. Assists with stocking merchandise and displaying of merchandise in an effective manner. Assists with opening and closing duties of the retail shop.

Assists in the planning and development in courses of action to achieve the department/service goals and coordinates operating functions. Occasional out of state travel may be required for purchasing of merchandise. Work closely with volunteers, vendors, customers, employees, visitors and patients and develops/maintains good rapport with same. Leads volunteers to perform the work required to achieve identified goals of the department service. Advises on recruiting for volunteer staff and coordinates volunteers assigned to shop. Coordinates and performs activities to meet department/service goals. Coordinates and participates in processes to validate achievement of goals to meet/exceed customer expectations. Implements methods for feedback from customers. Provides other training as needed. May deliver flowers or gifts to patient areas.

Qualifications:

Must possess a strong knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a high school diploma.

Two years of related experience in retail or design. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, staff, and community members. Must have knowledge of and the ability to operate a computerized (inventory system). Ability to communicate sufficiently to perform duties in a manner consistent with departmental scope of services and standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional retail and/or customer service experience is preferred.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
