The Marketing Supervisor manages all aspects of store marketing to include the In-Store Marketing Team and strategic store and regional marketing and community relations outreach. Development and implementation of store marketing strategy, based on store business strategy mandatory.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Write and distribute press releases to promote awareness of store events, strategic partnerships and external event sponsorships.
Develop mutually beneficial promotional relationships with local schools, businesses and community organizations.
Serve as advocate and information source in the store for regional marketing programs and graphics standards.
Develop and implement external marketing and advertising programs.
Research competition and local community, summarizing findings for store and regional leadership as necessary.
Develop marketing strategy and written action plans to achieve are specific objectives.
Measure, evaluate and analyze programs as needed.
Oversee store level merchandising, events, media and community relations, local advertising and promotions.
Insure that national, regional and store marketing and PR programs are executed effectively.
Coordinate interviews, store tours, local media store photo shoots.
Work with the Metro TM, Regional Marketing, STL/ASTLs to define objectives, strategize and plan.
Assist in Interviewing, selecting, evaluating, counseling and terminating Team Members.
Coordinate all internal marketing and promotional efforts including merchandising, community relations, public relations, in-store sign collateral, information, events and demos.
Assist, participate and offer feedback in Metro wide promotions.
Assist all aspects of the Marketing Team which includes Marketing Assistant/Signmaker.
Work with the Metro Marketing Supervisor to develop marketing strategy and written action plans to achieve
store specific objectives.
Manage store marketing budgets and donation process, measure, evaluate and analyze programs as needed.
Oversee store level merchandising, events, media and community relations, local advertising and promotions.
Implement and manage national, regional and store marketing and PR programs.
Coordinate with the Metro Marketing Supervisor with TM interviews, store tours, local media store photo shoots.
Perform national, regional, store and self-directed demos, prepare and cook food for demos over see set up and clean up, creatively merchandise, garnish and display product. Know demo product ingredients and their store location, educate customers and sell product, follow established food safety, cleaning and maintenance procedures.
Oversee sampling of store products to the customers.
Follow through on all customer questions and requests.
Maintain accurate retail pricing, signage and inventory of promotional products.
Be aware of new products and their placement; ensure product transfers are done promptly and correctly, know product availability, preparation, storage and nutritional aspects.
Know and practice proper lifting techniques and safe use of tools/equipment, practice proper care and maintenance of all equipment. Report safety violations/hazards immediately; maintain department security.
Communicate effectively with all TMs regarding proper department operations.
Conduct scheduled inventories and submit reports, communicate company goals and information to Team Members.
Keep Store Leadership informed of all events that affect the department.
Schedule/lead department team meetings; attend store and regional meetings.
Visit the competition on a regular basis and react to current industry trends.
Perform Team Member duties as required to run the department.
Perform other duties as assigned by Store Leadership/Coordinator.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required.
Must be self-motivated, solution and detail oriented.
Minimum of 2 yrs experience in marketing, public relations and/or event management.
Background in food industry/retail desirable and familiarity with food preparation .
Ability to interact with media and maintain positive relationships with
the business and vendor community.
Able to liftt up to 40 lbs unassisted.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong budget and time management skills.
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook Exchange, Tailored Mail and Bunzl supply ordering).
Prioritization skills and ability to follow directions and implement ideas.
Two years leadership experience or equivalent.
Flexible schedule.
Excellent motivator; able to work well with others and convey enthusiasm.
Can train and inspire Team Members to excellence in all aspects of the department.
Prior knowledge of community a plus.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must have a current Serv-Safe certificate or completion within 90 days.
The following pertains to current Whole Foods Team Members only:
In current position/location for at least 6 months.
Must have Store Team Leader approval.
Team Member must be in good standing.
Team Members with corrective Counseling’s must disclose this information to the hiring leader when they are applying for a transfer or promotion.
Team Members on active Final Warning are ineligible to apply or be considered for transfers or promotions.
