About the Job
Heska Corporation, a developer and manufacturer of USDA and FDA regulated products for the companion animal and livestock markets, has an immediate opening for a Manager of Research & Development.
The Manager of R&D oversees and directs the activities of the Research & Development department, and will lead the department in the successful development and completion of experiments and studies aimed at supporting USDA licensure of veterinary biological products.
Job Requirements:

MS or PhD in a relevant biological science preferred with 10+ years direct experience in protein purification / characterization and immunoassay / vaccine development.
*
Must possess a thorough knowledge of immunoassay methods as they apply to the vaccine industry and have a working knowledge of many disciplines including cell culture, virology, bacteriology, immunology, quality control testing, APHIS regulations and government guidelines concerning the licensing and production of veterinary biological products.

Must have an understanding of the principles of GLP, GCP and GMP.
*
Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational and planning abilities and strong statistical knowledge required.
*
Problem-solving and project management skills are a must.
Post-offer physical/drug screen and background check required.
