The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an opportunity for a Business Systems Analyst within the Office of HIPAA Privacy and Security located on our Medical Campus. Duties include maintaining & updating the departmental website. Creating and maintaining all departmental Databases to meet business objectives. Generating reports from department databases and learning management system as needed. Serving as an Analyst for purposes of HIPAA privacy and security related to compliance for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Assist in response to privacy and security incidents. Assist in writing and maintaining of HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies and Procedures. Assist with the development of on-going education and training presentations.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, Information Technology or related field and one year of relevant experience is required. A Master’s degree is preferred. Experience with web site development and maintenance desired. Experience with developing and maintaining Microsoft Access databases including report generation is preferred. Candidate must have a strong knowledge of other Office applications. Experience in Adobe products such as Dreamweaver, Acrobat etc. highly desirable. Must be able to learn University web development system (Ingeniux and Expression Engine).Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security regulation highly desirable.

Highly organized with a keen sense of detail and technical writing skills desirable. Knowledge in and the ability to apply the principles of project management, systems analysis and change management in day-to-day activities. Demonstrated strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work well in a collaborative, team environment as well as maintain confidentiality. Strong sense of ethics and personal responsibility. Strong customer service skills (both internal and external) required as the position interacts with staff, departmental administrators and their departments. Interest in Information Technology, Information Security and Privacy highly desirable. Any appropriate combination of education, certifications and/or relevant work experience will be considered.
