Description

-Maintains a general understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and other third party payer rules.

-Discuss payment options with customers.

-Meet with patient during hospitilization prior to discharge to discuss financial arrangements, obligations, and options.

-Provide price estimates for patients.

-Process financial assistance (charity) applications.

-Receive and process patient payments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/ GED

EXPERIENCE:

• 3 years insurance billing

• Must possess problem-solving skills of the type and at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
• Must demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively within the organization verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to relate professionally, positively and cooperatively with staff and public.
• Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
• Must meet the physical demands of the position.
• Must meet all local health regulations, pass post-offer drug test, and post offer employment physical exam if required.
• Must be capable of performing essential job functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must possess computer skills of the type and at a level necessary to accomplish specific job duties and assignments.
• Must meet competency requirements upon hire and as needed.
