Quality Engineer

Responsibilities
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for investing and resolving component and raw material issues with suppliers. You will devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, reliability, and accuracy of products and processes of suppliers. You will oversee the incoming inspection process to ensure continuous flow of quality materials to the manufacturing plant and alignment of inspection methods. In this role, you will collect supplier quality and delivery data, create supplier scorecards, submit performance reports for consolidation, and regularly review scorecard results with suppliers. You will perform quality systems and process audits, including follow up and closure of non-conformances and timely disposition of nonconforming material. You will conduct regular visits to assigned suppliers to review manufacturing processes, quality systems and controls, pre-launch readiness, root cause identification, corrective actions, and process improvement opportunities. You will be an integral part of design reviews, approving all supplier quality requirement plans.
Qualifications
  • BS degree in Engineering and/or ASQ certification as a quality engineer. Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience.
  • Thorough understanding of application/use of statistical quality assurance methods.
  • Ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present to all levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement principles and techniques in manufacturing and quality functions.
  • Computer skills with experience using specialized data analysis tools.
