The Annuities Compliance Unit works closely with all levels of the Annuities Business to assist in the development, maintenance and enforcement of policies and procedures reasonably designed to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and regulatory body rules pertaining to the manufacture and wholesale distribution of variable annuity products.
Annuities Compliance is looking for a Compliance Analyst to join our dynamic and fast paced team.  The Compliance Analyst should possess the following skills:
  • Detailed understanding of the third party distribution model and the distinct obligations placed upon the issuing company, principal underwriter, retail broker/dealer, and registered investment advisor.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong qualitative analysis skills
  • Ability to partner with various stakeholders in the business to engage third party selling firms in dialogue regarding compliance disclosures
  • Willingness to constantly evaluate existing processes and procedures to identify opportunities to improve controls.
The primary responsibilities of the Compliance Anaylst include, but are not limited to:
  • End to end administration of the initial and on-going due diligence review of retail broker/dealers
  • End to end administration of the initial and on-going due diligence review of registered investment advisor firms
  • Regular support to the broker/dealer monitoring process as required by NAIC rules
  • Ongoing maintenance of the Annuities Compliance intranet site
  • Ongoing maintenance of the PAD Compliance Manual to ensure policies and procedures on file are both compliant with all applicable rules and regulations as well as reflective the policies and procedures effectuated in practice
  • Active participation in the FINRA Rule 3012 Annual Reporting process
  • Ad hoc project participation in response to the needs of the business
  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting on a regular basis with the members of Strategic Relationship Management, Sales, Pre-Hire, Corporate Investigations, other compliance and quality control units of the Prudential’s enterprise, Law as well as Annuities Operations units such as Broker Services and Advisory Services in addition to the compliance areas of third party broker/dealer firms.

Qualifications

·         College degree preferred; advanced degree a plus
·         Exposure to Financial Services, preferably in third party distribution model.
·         Compliance or licensing experience preferred but not required.
·         Detail oriented with good organizational and time management skills.
·         Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work throughout the day.
·         Ability to make quick, yet sound, decisions and provide clear, concise basis for decision.
·         Strong communication skills.
·         Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
·         Ability to establish strong partnerships with internal as well as external business partners.
·         Willingness and desire to learn from others
·         Adapts to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
·         FINRA Series 6 and 26 within 6 months of hire
