Job Description

Job Description:
Provide IP Telephony & Data Network Project Management support for Arizona State University (ASU) remodel and/or new build projects
Manage data and voice communications projects to include site surveys, gathering requirements, obtaining price quotes, obtaining customer approvals, equipment orders, coordinating project activities and monitoring results through project completion
Creates and maintains documentation and reports as required to manage ongoing remodel and or new build projects for the ASU Network
Documents and appropriately manages risks of project to ensure timely delivery
Develops project progress and status reports, attends weekly conferences with various project managers and construction general contractors to communicate task status, task deliverables, overall project schedule and risk assessment
Interfaces with Sales Engineering to ensure parts and inventory are ordered to support multiple projects
Monitors, updates and assigns project tasks via ASU shared proprietary CRM system.
Participates in internal audits of quotes / bills / site walk through situations to include documentation of the completed projects
Must have an aptitude that lends toward development of key relationships with ASU construction, project planning, billing, and new build groups.
Document One-Flex vs growth vs other types of network project spends / authorization
Basic Job Qualifications:
· Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a related field, with 6 – 8 years telecommunications experience.
1-yr experience managing infrastructure cable management documentation systems and/or telecommunications inventory procedures.
High level of detail orientation and organizational skills
· Experience mentoring/training/coaching less experienced employees
· Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Solid understanding of the TDM/VoIP telephony and data networks and/or experience managing telephony and data network projects
Direct customer interaction communication skills, (oral and written), customer service, organizational and multi-tasking skills
Goal oriented with a deep understanding of team building
· Proficient PC skills in office applications and network connectivity configuration
· Proficient presentation skills for presentations to technical and non-technical audiences; must be able to translate technical terms and concepts to non-technical entities.
Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
ITIL Certification
· BICSI certification / experience
Solid project management experience
Highly self motivated and directed
Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Experience in a higher education environment
