Posting Job Description The Training Specialist manages the design and delivery of a wide variety of technical and team learning initiatives to address skills and development for employees within the business unit or department.
Ensures that competencies required by existing and evolving processes and equipment are identified and incorporated into learning programs or interventions.
Manages the CAP/SkilBase process to maximize employee competence. Assists in the planning and implementation of WCM and the MillerCoors Manufacturing Way .
Manages the training process for the business unit or department, from needs assessment to evaluation.
Develops, delivers, or sources training and documentation. Coaches, mentors, and develops team members.
Evaluates and documents training information, including SOP’s. Collaborates with the L&D Manager, Sr. HR Manager, and MDM to drive change management. Oversees and manages hourly trainers or SkilBase analysts.
Designs and conducts on-boarding orientation for new employees and those changing jobs within the business unit or department.
Develops and maintains skills and competency matrices for the unit or department.
Manages the development and delivery of training solutions to maintain competency requirements to achieve SPQSC goals for the unit or department.
Works with unit leaders and individuals to design and execute development plans.
Assists with leading and managing the delivery of structured OJT.
Plans and executes WCM learning plans for the unit or department.
Facilitates team training and process improvement activities as appropriate.
Assists in budget planning
Ensures adherence to CAP procedures.
Ensures required CAP assessments are carried out, involving relevant people where required.
Ensure records are updated, and all administration tasks in support of CAP are completed once assessments have taken place.
Communicate outcome of CAP assessments to employees, and overall CAP statistics as required.
Ensure processes are in place to address situations where employees cannot demonstrate competency.
Interacts with the unit manager or department to determine training needs. Facilitates performance analysis to determine performance issues Facilitates structured needs analysis to determine performance gaps and develops plans to close the gaps
Develops training materials to address specific needs of teams and individuals.
Identifies and requests subject matter resources to assist in the development of training material where required.
Manages relationships with internal and external suppliers to achieve effective implementation.
Verifies that all relevant training materials received from corporate or other external sources meet brewery business unit or department needs; modifies materials as necessary to ensure effective learning.
Conducts post-training evaluations to ensure the effectiveness of approach, materials and delivery. Revisions made based on evaluation results.
Conducts periodic audits to assess effectiveness of practical application and sustainability.
Systems (Skilbase, SAP, etc) utilized to manage data for tracking, reporting and analyzing training.
Coaches and facilitates teams in the implementation of WCM and the adherence to WCM principles.
Works with teams in evaluating process improvement opportunities and provides assistance in problem solving and continuous improvement methods.
Collaborates with colleagues within the Learning and Development function to ensure consistent application of Corporate Learning and development standards.
Participates in annual goal setting, monthly and semi-annual team goal review meetings.
Participates in monthly one-on-ones and performance reviews.
Preferred Qualifications Education level and/or experience
4-year degree preferably in HRD, OD or business with relevant manufacturing training experience.
2-3 years training or operations experience.
Knowledge of HRD and Competency Based Training practices.
Proven facilitation, interpersonal and communication skills.
Computer literacy.
Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing or Lean Manufacturing
Skills and/or knowledge
Classroom Instruction & Facilitation: Requires good skills in stand-up instruction and facilitation; meeting facilitation & presentation skills.
Project management: Manage client projects to ensure on-time delivery and quality whether using internal or external resources.
People Management: Manage small project team (internal or external).
Customer Service: Ensure that all products & services delivered to customers exceed expectations.
Knowledge of Instruction Design and content development. Technical aptitude Quality:
Ensure highest quality deliverables.
