This position is responsible for leading a team of Windows engineers. The primary focus of this group will be to design infrastructure solutions for the various projects that come from marketing/development. They will also be responsible as 3^rd level support for all Windows and related third party software and the underlying hardware these systems run on. In addition, this group will be responsible for the design and support of systems such as Active Directory, SCCM and SCOM to name a few. This organization is also responsible for the design and support of our Hosted Exchange service that is offered as a service.

What does the job entail?

• Responsible of managing a team of Windows engineers that are responsible for third level support of our Windows environments.
• Responsible for the design, implementation of key Windows infrastructure and third level support of systems like Active Directory and IDNS.
• Responsible for participating with other development teams on new projects. Goal will be to provide the most cost effective solutions that can meet the necessary sla’s and have the ability to scale. Manage projects producing timely and accurate results
• The Windows Engineering manager will also have the overall responsibility for the health, capacity and performance of the Windows environment. The manager will participate in the review of these systems from a capacity and performance standpoint and make recommendations that will maintain the stability and performance of the various Windows environments.
• Responsible for staying current with new technologies in the Windows arena. Making sure we can leverage new technologies to reduce cost and improve reliability/ performance.
• This position will be responsible for the overall management of the team including coaching and mentoring, hiring and firing and other disciplinary actions if required. Conduct performance review per the company schedule. Manage your budget within the parameters you are given.
• Develop standard operating policies procedures for Windows Systems department

Do you have what it takes?

• Four year degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least 3 years experience managing a engineering/operations group or acting as a technical lead.
• Windows certification(s)
• At least 5 years of experience with Windows engineering and architecture
• Experience designing solutions for Windows products such as AD, Sharepoint and Exchange
• Experience working in a large data center environment with 24×7 uptime requirement
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, complex environment.
• Extreme attention to details and procedures
• Strong project management, verbal and writing skills
• Ability to assist in the administration of a multi-million dollar budget
• Administer financial matters in an effective, pro-active manner as related to cost control measures
• Ability to lead teams in the execution and fulfillment of projects and objectives
• Should have an understanding of current industry trends, their advantages and the ability to determine if they are a good fit for the business and within the existing environment
• Achieve specific results from general direction
• Use ingenuity to find creative solutions to solve complex problems
• Determine course of action based on extremely complex issues in a time-pressured environment often with a portion of information needed to fully analyze the issue
• Work and derive creative and practical solutions in independent work environment
• Communicate clearly with all levels of employees
• Hands on experience with Exchange and Active Directory
• Working knowledge of Virtual Machine technology a plus.
