The Part Time, Per Diem Elementary Reading Specialist will facilitate and deliver knowledgeable and successful trainings to customers and committees supporting Pearson products/solutions, and services.

The Part Time, Per Diem Elementary Reading Specialist will: conduct quality follow-up in-service to customers as needed; support pilots and customer’s evaluation of materials; modify and develop presentations based on a thorough knowledge of the product and the customer’s needs; communicate customer feedback, market trends and customer needs to the Account Executive.

This position requires a self-starter and creative problem-solver with a thorough knowledge of current trends in education both regionally and nationally.

This position is not benefits eligible.


SCOPE AND IMPACT OF JOB

Dollar responsibilities (budget and/or revenue)

  • All Reading Specialists are responsible for staying within the budget set by the CS Manager.

Other

  • Travel including occasional overnight required; requests are sometimes made with short notice.
  • Must be able to lift and carry sample books, promotional papers and items, display boards, and easels.
  • Must be able to faithfully commit to assignments, and carry out scheduled requests, without cancellation (unless personal emergencies arise).
  • Must have own car.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates expert content knowledge of disciplines and presentation skills in order to design and deliver product presentations to successfully have our programs/services adopted by customers.

Provides superior customer support through presentations, trainings, and follow-up in-services.

Builds and maintains strong relationships in the industry to assist in the position of Pearson products/services.

Takes initiative in identifying customer’s needs and expectations and provides solutions through Pearson products and services.

Works closely with Account Executive, to gather customer feedback, identify market trends and recognize customer needs.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Related Work Experience

  • Previous successful classroom teaching experience required.
  • Classroom experience of 5 years or more a plus.
  • Previous educational consulting experiences a plus.

Formal Education or Equivalent

  • BA/BS required and a master’s is preferred.

Other

  • Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint; Strong technology skill/aptitude for a variety of presentation hardware and software required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must be able to present in-services and trainings lasting up to six hours.
  • Must be able to speak/present to large groups.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
