<p>Responsibilities:<br />
Requirements for Design positions:<br />
• Design background with knit, woven’s, accessories and /or handbags experience<br />

Type of Position	Regular: A staff member is appointed to a position that is essential for the effective long-term operation of the university. Staff members are entitled to the privileges and benefits associated with regular status employment.<br />
Duties:	The University of Iowa is seeking an experienced Design Project Manager to manage and supervise the design process for new building construction, building renovation and capital renewal projects of multiple varieties utilizing outside architects and/or engineers. Duties include: Facilitate the selection of architectural and/or engineering consultants, prepare service agreements and negotiate professional fees; Assure compliance with industry standards, building codes, University design standards and procedures, and program objectives of the specific project request; Review progress submittals and facilitate milestone review meetings that include input from campus stakeholders; Develop and effectively manage project budgets and schedules while keeping administration regularly informed of the status of all assigned projects; Manage the project decision making process to ensure accountability in the expending of financial resources and facilitate effective long-term stewardship of University financial and physical assets; Provide technical and administrative support and guidance to other design project managers; Work with the associate director of PM in developing strategies and methods to streamline the project delivery process and play a key role in their implementation. Develop and nurture effective working relationships with University customers; Plan and organize objectives and long-range programs to ensure customer needs are being consistently met; Periodically meet with customers to assess needs, establish definable expectations, monitor performance and resulting levels of satisfaction; Recommend strategies to the associate director of PM for implementation.<br />
Education Required:	A Master&#8217;s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is required.</p>
<p>Experience Required:	Extensive (5-7 years) experience in the design and construction industry;</p>
<p>Extensive exposure to the design and construction industry in a role as project manager, particularly in leading the design phase;</p>
<p>Experience with accountability for establishing and managing project scopes, budgets and schedules;</p>
<p>Experience in an institutional or other complex customer environment;</p>
<p>Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of an integrated facilities management approach to project management;</p>
<p>Understanding of the total-cost-of-ownership approach to project decision making and other effective practices supporting facilities stewardship;</p>
<p>Proficient in computer software applications;</p>
<p>Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment;</p>
<p>Excellent oral and written communication skills;</p>
<p>A strong customer service orientation.<br />
Certifications:	Licensed architect or engineer in Iowa is required, or ability to obtain Iowa registration within six months.<br />
Desirable Qualifications:	Previous roles as a facilities manager or owner’s representative;</p>
<p>More than 7 years experience in the design and construction industry.<br />

<p>Duties:<br />
The successful candidate will help support large, multi-disciplinary planning projects primarily in aid of Department of Defense installation planning projects/studies and provide input to a broad range of facility planning products and military construction programming documents.  Prior US Navy/Marine Corps installation planning experience is highly desired.  Work will require travel, possibly overseas.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:<br />
Will support the master military planner in developing master plans, global/regional/installation specific plans, facility and infrastructure planning special studies, land use plans, infrastructure requirements documentation, facility utilization studies, facilities planning reports and project development documentation, geospatial information and GIS services support, encroachment management plans, sustainable planning and design studies, site security and force protection studies, joint land use studies, etc.  Will also support NEPA -related planning and documentation (EIS, EA, and related sudies).</p>
<p>Skill Requirements:<br />
Candidate must have: Strong, analytical and strong graphic skills; land use planning, preparation of facility requirements and planning documents, and capital improvements planning; excellent written and communication skills; and, ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams.  Experience in military planning and military construction programming support preferred but not required.  Proficiency with MS Office Suite, CAD, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite and graphic programs are required.</p>
<p>Qualifications:<br />
Bachelor&#8217;s degree in planning, landscape architecture or a related discipline is required.  Master&#8217;s degree is preferred.  Professional Certification/License a plus (e.g.,. AICP, ASLA, AIA, LEED).  Minimum of 5 yrs relevant military planning experience is preferred but not required.  Direct recent experience with the U.S. Navy/Marine Corps, Air Force, Army, and/or Coast Guard installation planning is preferred but not required.  Understanding of NEPA and work with environmental planning is a plus.</p>

<p>As a furniture store committed to helping people achieve the home of their dreams, our design managers have two highly defined skills: interior design and training. They must be able to help people reflect their personal style and be able to pass this skill on to the sales team.</p>
<p>At Bassett, our free in-home design service not only sets us apart from other furniture stores but is a key ingredient for developing customer relationships and providing opportunity for increased sales. We refer to this technique as �housecalls�. The design manager not only trains design consultants on effective housecall selling, but works side by side with them on preparing customer presentations, product choices and other customer design needs. The design manager is also responsible for maintaining the design center and providing back up for the store manager.</p>
<p>Bassett design managers are compensated on an annual salary.</p>
<p>Position requirements include:</p>
<p>    * Minimum 3 years professional experience in interior design, visual merchandising or other design-related field<br />
    * Ability to train and coach a sales team with varying levels of design skills<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Job Description:   Senior level position in the Mechanical Subsystem Directorate, Mechanical Design Analysis Documentation Department.  Will develop solutions to a variety of complexity problems;  may refer to established precedents and policies.  Will work under general direction either individually or in a team environment to develop major components or sections of missile weapon systems or develop improvements to a product to facilitate manufacturing operations.  Work will be reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting program objectives.  Candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks in support of the engineering and manufacturing organizations.  Will use Computer Assisted Design (CAD) systems to prepare mechanical design layouts, detail and assembly drawings and related documentation in conformance to appropriate program and/or military specifications.  Initial travel anticipated during the first month to coordinate with Functional/Program Management based in Tucson, Arizona, with occasional travel thereafter to interface with various Customers and Suppliers.  </p>
<p>Required Skills:  Bachelor&#8217;s degree with a minimum of 4 years design experience.  Mechanical design experience may include areas such as electrical /mechanical packaging, harnessing, structures, surfacing and mechanisms.  Candidate must have complete understanding and application of principles, practices and standards for creation and preparation of engineering design documentation.  Candidate must have full knowledge of industry practices and standards and able to identify and correct design, model or drawing errors/omissions/deficiencies and recommend corrective actions or improvements.  Technical knowledge sufficient to perform complex tasks such as preparation of tabulated details, large assemblies, castings and other preforms, interface control drawings, modification and retrofit installation drawings and various layouts for design concepts.  This knowledge includes application of documentation specifications such as MIL-DTL-31000, ASME Y14.24 and ASME Y14.100 related to design and preparation of technical data packages.  In addition, candidate must have the ability to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing form controls in accordance with ASME or ANSI Y14.5M.  Advanced experience using ProENGINEER (2000i or Wildfire) or SolidWorks and ProPDM/Intralink or Sherpa PDM modeling and data management tools.  Excellent oral and written communication skills;  ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently;  demonstrated leadership skills.  Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.</p>
<p>Desired Skills:  Associate&#8217;s degree with a minimum of 10 years experience.  Expert User of ProENGINEER Wildfire and Sherpa PDM or ProPDM.  Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Demonstrated experience using documentation specifications such as MIL-DTL-31000,  ASME Y14.24 and ASME Y14.100.  Knowledge of Raytheon Drafting Standard, Mechanical Engineering Process for documentation preparation.  Background in manufacturing methods/processes and assembly fixtures and gages design.  Demonstrated functional and team leadership skills.  Existing secret clearance is desirable.</p>
<p>Required Education:   Bachelors degree with 4 years experience or Associates degree in technical field with 10 years experience or High School diploma or equivalent with 16 years experience</p>

<p>As a furniture store committed to helping people achieve the home of their dreams, our design managers have two highly defined skills: interior design and training. They must be able to help people reflect their personal style and be able to pass this skill on to the sales team.</p>
<p>At Bassett, our free in-home design service not only sets us apart from other furniture stores but is a key ingredient for developing customer relationships and providing opportunity for increased sales. We refer to this technique as �housecalls�. The design manager not only trains design consultants on effective housecall selling, but works side by side with them on preparing customer presentations, product choices and other customer design needs. The design manager is also responsible for maintaining the design center and providing back up for the store manager.</p>
<p>Bassett design managers are compensated on an annual salary.</p>
<p>Position requirements include:</p>
<p>    * Minimum 3 years professional experience in interior design, visual merchandising or other design-related field<br />
    * Ability to train and coach a sales team with varying levels of design skills<br />
    * Ability to develop complete room plans using creative space and color planning<br />
